Hallstatt

Yesterday we arrived in the quaint Austrian town of Hallstatt.  Technically, we’re staying in Obertraun, just a 3-4 minute drive around Hallstatter Lake, but Hallstatt was the attraction.  And it did not disappoint!

Hallstatt is, without question, the most captivating place I’ve been to.  It has everything…colour, architecture, it oozes character, waterfalls, narrow pathways, inviting staircases that just beg you to climb them to see what’s around the turn, quickly ascending/descending road/paths, a courtyard with a church, attractive stores, an interesting salt mine history, and it sits on a nice lake surrounded by the Alps!  Otherwise, it’s pretty normal.

That’s it…that’s all I have to say.  I’ll let the pictures say the rest.

We rounded out our stay in Hallstatt with a dinner on the lake.  Nice way to cap off our two day stay.
