After landing in Malta, we split up between two vehicles as we had too much luggage to fit in one vehicle. Kim and the boys took a taxi while Connie and I wrestled with GPS, driving from the wrong side of the vehicle on the wrong side of the road with a stick shift at my left side. We eventually caught up to Kim and the boys who were patiently waiting by the sea (not a bad place to kill some time) where we finally settled into our flat on the Mediterranean Sea. Not a bad view…I think we’ll get used to this. A glass of wine, fresh air, and finally relaxing after a marathon trip was enough for the lack of sleep to catch up with us. Bed time was early…and we slept hard!
We got off to a bit of a slow start Monday morning, and took care of a few necessities including grocery shopping and new SIM cards. Then we visited some family members we haven’t seen in close to 14 years. First stop was Michael’s mom’s siblings Vitorin, Fred, Bica, and Gemma (pictured below), and then we walked over to visit Charlie (not pictured). It was great to get reacquainted!
